While in the Channel 4 Drama Commissioning Department, I played a direct role in the development of the later series of Shameless, helping guide the show’s narrative evolution and supporting the commissioning process from script to production.
I worked closely with writers, producers, and internal teams to evaluate scripts, provide editorial notes, and shape story arcs while maintaining the show’s distinctive voice, humour, and character-driven storytelling. My role involved an overview of episode structure, strengthening character development, and ensuring each storyline aligned with Channel 4’s creative vision.
This work highlights my experience at the intersection of commissioning and script development, combining a strong editorial perspective with hands-on story guidance to ensure long-running TV drama remains compelling, coherent, and resonant with audiences.
