I can read and assess your script, providing a detailed 3-5 page report to help you understand which elements are working well and which need further development. I will also reply to any follow-up questions via e-mail. Having worked with first time writers to some of the most experienced professionals in the industry, I am sensitive to people’s individual needs as well as identifying a clear sense of direction to help move your script forward. I can also offer a one-to-one hour long video call to discuss the script assessment and explore further avenues for you to develop your idea.
If you’d like to spend more time working with me on a project as a script consultant or script editor, I can offer mentoring and development services over six, nine or twelve months. This involves me reading and assessing your work and feeding back to you on a one hour video call once a month. Before starting the process I offer a free 30 min video call so that you can give me a bit of context about the project (or projects) and decide if you want to go ahead with a mentoring package. If you would like more support than a single hour a month, I can offer further hours at discounted rates. We can discuss the frequency and timings of these calls tailoring the process to your needs.
I will also be offering group webinars and masterclasses covering different aspects of working in the TV industry. This is an opportunity for you to dive a bit deeper into the nuts and bolts of how this dynamic and fast-changing industry actually works.

Think of me as your script’s personal trainer. I give honest, constructive feedback to help your story, characters, and structure hit their full potential. Whether you're stuck in Act 2 or polishing a final draft, I’m here to help make your script stronger.
I work on a mix—features, TV pilots, limited series. I’m happy to discuss anything that might be a bit left-field. Genre-wise, I’m open and will try and help you achieve the best version of your project. If you’ve written it, I’ll read it.
Definitely not! I work with everyone—from total beginners to experienced screenwriters. My feedback is tailored to you, not just the page. If it’s your first script, I’ll guide you. If you’ve done this before, we’ll dig deep.
You’ll get a full set of notes on your script—covering story structure, pacing, characters, dialogue, and whatever else needs attention. I can also include a Zoom for a further fee to walk through it all together.
For a set of notes it’s usually around 7–10 business days. This is dependent on my work commitments and I will keep you updated on timings.
Yes, 100%. I treat all scripts as confidential. Your ideas are safe here.
Coverage is like a quick diagnostic: and assessment of the script, detailed notes, and suggestions of where improvements might be made. Mentoring is more in-depth—we’re talking detailed feedback and strategy to help you take the script to the next level.
It usually includes an initial script or project review, one-on-one feedback sessions online, step-by-step guidance on developing the project or rewriting, and practical exercises tailored to your writing style.
I wish! Sadly, no one can guarantee that. What I can promise is honest, experienced feedback to give your script the best possible shot—whether you're submitting to contests, producers, or agents.
Easy. Head over to the Contact and Rates pages, pick what you need, and send your script or treatment as a PDF to ben@scenebyscenescriptconsultant.com. Do feel free to email me first if you have any specific questions or queries. Once we’re set, I’ll confirm the timeline and we’ll get to work.
